I am lucky to have found a passion for movement at a young age. Starting with dance and steadily progressing to soccer, track and rugby, it didn’t initially occur to me that there might be a career well suited for movement enthusiasts.

I was a chronically injured rugby player for the University of Oregon when I started taking Carpe Diem’s Reformer Pilates series. Having played rugby for years, I had grown to expect injury as a necessary aspect of being an athlete in any sport. However, it was through the Reformer series where I learned that inefficient movement patterns within my body were occasionally more at fault than the sport itself. Once I experienced the vast potential and possibility that could be reached with the use of functional movement, I began striving to help others achieve this harmony within their bodies.

I am currently completing a master’s degree in Human Movement with a focus in Corrective Exercise and Sports Conditioning. I truly believe that each individual is an athlete with the possibility for greatness. Everyone can reach exhilarating new heights with the right mentality, drive and will to improve his or herself. Working in human movement provides me with an excellent opportunity to help others explore that philosophy.
